Black Hawk and the Leading Figures of the British Band on their Eastern Tour

While taking the tour of the East--perhaps to show Black Hawk and other leading figures from the "British Band" the irresistible power of the United States, perhaps to show off the captured Savages warriors to the American public--the traveling Indians were transformed from dangerous prisoners of war into darlings of the Eastern press...especially in those newspapers hostile to Andrew Jackson.
